It could be double the pleasure, double the fun in Memphis next season as Pau Gasol is debating returning to play for the Grizzlies once again. Although Pau has admittedly stated his desire to remain in LA, he could go elsewhere if he can’t come to an agreement with the Lakers. One of the places he could potentially land is back where he stated his career, in Memphis. When asked about the looming free agency situation, the Lakers star stated:

“It’s appealing,” Pau Gasol said about playing with his brother Marc in Memphis “One of the best centers in the NBA, one of the best interior players, is my brother. There’s a lot of attractive factors there. But who knows if that’s even a possibility or if that will ever happen. Right now, I’m just trying to focus on (the Lakers’ opponents) and staying healthy and playing a very successful year so this team and others will have the certainty and the confidence that I am a difference maker, that I am an elite player and I have a lot of years in me.”

There’s no doubt that with Kobe’s massive two year deal the Lakers are going to have to make some cuts next season and it seems it may be time for them to part ways with Pau. However, this might work out for the best for the big man. We all know he’s a family man and that he would love to return to the city where he spent 6 years of his life and join forces with his brother.

Jerryd Bayless (15 points, all in 4th quarter): “Anybody can have a good night like tonight. Luckily, it was my night.”

Brad Stevens: “I think you just understand where we are and where we have to go. You do your best to focus on what’s next and not pay too much attention to anything else.”
